You will be picked up from your hotel or the airport in Nairobi and begin the drive to Amboseli. The journey follows the Nairobi to Mombasa road and passes through Maasai land as you head toward the park which sits at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro. Amboseli is well known for its large elephants and beautiful scenery, with open plains, acacia woodland, rocky areas, swamps, and the dry bed of Lake Amboseli. After arriving and settling in at your camp or lodge, you will head out for an afternoon game drive to start spotting wildlife. Later return to the lodge or camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Start the day early with a chance to see Mount Kilimanjaro clearly in the morning light before clouds build up. After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive in the park as you continue searching for animals around the plains and swamps. Later leave Amboseli and travel toward Lake Nakuru, driving down into the Great Rift Valley. You will arrive in the evening, check in at your camp or lodge, then have dinner and relax for the night.
After breakfast, head into Lake Nakuru National Park for a game drive. The park is known for its many bird species including flamingos, pelicans, and storks, and it is also a good place to see both white and black rhinos, giraffes, lions, zebras, antelopes, buffalo, and other wildlife. After exploring the park, continue your journey to Masai Mara, arriving later in the day. In the evening, go for a game drive where you may see animals such as giraffes, baboons, hyenas, jackals, elephants, buffalo, and many others. Lions are often seen resting on the plains while cheetahs and leopards are sometimes spotted as well. Dinner and overnight at your lodge or camp.
Spend the whole day exploring Masai Mara with packed lunch boxes. The reserve is known for its large number of animals and wide open plains. You may see herds of elephants, buffalo, zebras, gazelles, and topis, along with predators like lions and sometimes leopards. Along the Mara River, hippos and crocodiles are often seen resting by the water. If visiting during the migration period, you might witness large numbers of wildebeest and zebras moving across the plains. Later in the evening, return to your lodge or camp. Dinner and overnight stay there.
After breakfast at the camp or lodge, check out and begin the drive back to Nairobi. You will stop for lunch in Narok town along the way before continuing the journey. Arrival in Nairobi will be in the evening, where you will be dropped off at your hotel or at the airport, marking the end of the safari.
Optional Balloon Safari at $450 and Maasai Village at $15-20
