Quite a challenge. The ascend to the base of the high peaks of Mt Kenya is steady and longer hence a real test on individual fitness. Descent through Sirimon is more or less gradual and at a comfortable pace. This itinerary includes mandatory camping at Mintos on day 2 but unless preferred the rest of the nights can be in the huts available along the way.
Tip: Day 2′s hike is a long one involving a steady climb up to Mintos. Hikers who are not limited by time can take an overnight stopover at the Nithi Camp (3300m) mid-way to Mintos. From here they can explore the nearby Nithi Falls or climb Mugi hill (3500m) for better acclimatization. Alternatively you can hike directly to Mintos/Halltarn and spend an extra day here instead to recuperate and explore the Gorges Valley which also accords you a better acclimatization due to the higher altitude.

Accommodation on this trek is 3 nights in mountain huts and 2 nights camping. Nonetheless, if you prefer to camp you can do so on all nights on the mountain. -

Known as the “Coca-Cola” route, the Marangu route is a classic trek on Mount Kilimanjaro. It is the oldest, most well established route. Many favor the Marangu route because it is considered to be the easiest path on the mountain, given its gradual slope. It is also the only route which offers sleeping huts in dormitory style accommodations.
Arrive anytime at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or from a Nairobi shuttle transfer, there will be transferred to your hotel in Moshi for your overnight.

The Lemosho route is one of the newer routes on Mount Kilimanjaro. The route begins in the west and rather than simply intersecting Shira Plateau (like Machame), Lemosho crosses it from Shira Ridge to Shira Camp. Climbers encounter low traffic until the route joins the Machame route. Afterwards, Lemosho follows the same route through Lava Tower, Barranco and Barafu, known as the southern circuit.
The minimum number of days required for this route is six days, although eight days is ideal.Lemosho is considered the most beautiful route on Kilimanjaro and grants panoramic vistas on various sides of the mountain. It is great route because it offers a great balance of low traffic, scenic views and a high summit success rate.

The waters from melted snow drain down the mountain under lava flows and surface into Amboseli National park creating a green belt of swampland amidst dusty plains. Here, hippos, elephants and bird life can be seen against the backdrop of the magnificent snow-capped mountain. This gives you a taste of the exciting safari that later goes to Lake Manyara in Tanzania, thereafter, to Serengeti, Ngorongoro crater and Tarangire in that order, winding it up in Arusha.
